Payment Terms & Conditions

These Payment Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to payments made to the Clawson Chamber of Commerce (“Chamber,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) through our website or other electronic payment methods. By submitting a payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to these Terms.
1. Payment Authorization
By submitting credit card, debit card, or other payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided and authorize the Clawson Chamber of Commerce and its third-party payment processor to charge the amount displayed and agreed to at the time of purchase.
All prices, fees, and charges are stated in U.S. dollars unless otherwise indicated.
2. Types of Payments
Online payments may include, but are not limited to:
Chamber membership dues and renewals
Event registrations and tickets
Sponsorships
Advertising and promotional opportunities
Program fees
Donations or contributions, when applicable
Merchandise
Other Chamber-related products or services
The specific amount and description of the transaction will be displayed before payment is submitted.
3. Membership Dues
Membership dues are charged according to the membership level selected at the time of enrollment or renewal.
Membership benefits begin or continue upon successful payment and are subject to the Chamber's membership policies, bylaws, and other applicable rules.
Unless otherwise stated, membership dues are non-refundable once the membership term has begun.
4. Automatic Membership Renewal
If you choose an automatic renewal option, you authorize the Clawson Chamber of Commerce to charge the payment method you provide for future membership renewals at the applicable membership rate.
Your membership will continue to renew according to the renewal schedule disclosed when you enroll in automatic renewal unless you cancel automatic renewal before the next scheduled charge.
You may request cancellation of automatic renewal by contacting the Clawson Chamber of Commerce. Cancellation of automatic renewal prevents future renewal charges but does not automatically result in a refund of previously processed membership dues.
Any change in membership pricing applicable to a future renewal will be communicated or disclosed as required before the applicable charge.
5. Event Registrations and Tickets
Unless otherwise stated for a specific event, event registrations and ticket purchases are non-refundable.
If the Chamber cancels an event, registered participants may receive a refund, credit, or other remedy as determined by the Chamber based on the circumstances of the cancellation.
If an event is postponed or rescheduled, registrations may be transferred to the new date. Any additional refund or credit options will be communicated to registered participants.
Registrations may be transferable to another individual or representative of the same organization at the Chamber's discretion.
6. Sponsorships and Advertising
Sponsorship and advertising payments are generally non-refundable once the Chamber has begun providing sponsorship benefits, advertising, promotion, event recognition, graphic design, printing, signage, or other services associated with the purchase.
The Chamber reserves the right to establish additional terms for individual sponsorship or advertising opportunities. Those specific terms will supplement these Terms.
7. Credit Card Processing Fees
If a credit card processing fee or surcharge applies to a transaction, the amount will be disclosed before the payment is submitted.
Any such fee will be assessed in accordance with applicable law and payment-card network requirements.
8. Failed or Declined Transactions
If a payment is declined, rejected, reversed, or otherwise unsuccessful, the related membership, registration, sponsorship, product, or service may be suspended or considered unpaid until satisfactory payment arrangements are made.
The Chamber is not responsible for fees charged by your bank, card issuer, or other financial institution.
9. Refund Requests
Requests for refunds must be submitted to the Clawson Chamber of Commerce and should include the purchaser's name, organization name if applicable, transaction date, amount, and reason for the request.
Refund eligibility will depend on the type of transaction and any refund or cancellation terms disclosed at the time of purchase.
Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method whenever reasonably possible. Processing times may vary depending on the payment processor and financial institution.
10. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you believe a charge was made in error, please contact the Clawson Chamber of Commerce before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable law or the rules of your card issuer.
11. Payment Security
Credit and debit card transactions may be processed by a third-party payment processor. The Chamber does not guarantee the operation or security of third-party payment systems.
Payment information is handled in accordance with the practices and security requirements of the applicable payment processor and card networks.
12. Accuracy of Information
You are responsible for providing accurate and current billing, contact, membership, registration, and other information associated with your transaction.
The Chamber is not responsible for problems resulting from inaccurate information provided by the purchaser.
13. Taxes
The purchaser is responsible for any applicable taxes associated with a transaction unless otherwise stated or unless the Chamber is responsible for collecting and remitting such taxes under applicable law.
14. Changes to These Terms
The Clawson Chamber of Commerce may modify these Payment Terms & Conditions from time to time. Changes will become effective when the revised Terms are posted on our website unless otherwise stated.
The Terms applicable to a particular transaction will generally be those in effect at the time the transaction is completed.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
